Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive
Background
The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive was implemented in 2007.
As a producer of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (EEE) Clevertronics UK International Ltd had a number of obligations in which it had to comply.
Clevertronics UK International Ltd’s approach to be compliant with these obligations are set out below, our WEEE registration Number is WEE/MM5190AA
- 1. Product Design
As we're a member of Lumicom, recycling of our luminaires is a quick and easy process (see www.lumicom.com).
- 2. WEEE Marking
All Clevertronics UK International Ltd products that are subject to the WEEE Directive by Clevertronics UK International Ltd from 13th August 2005 are compliant with the WEEE marking requirements. Such products are marked with the “crossed out wheelie bin” or WEEE symbol shown below in accordance with European Standard EN 50419.
- 3. Information for Users
This symbol on the product or on its packaging indicates that the product must not be disposed of with normal household waste. Instead, it is your responsibility to dispose of your waste equipment by arranging to return it to a designated collection point for the recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment. By separating and recycling your waste equipment at the time of disposal you will help to conserve natural resources and ensure that the equipment is recycled in a manner that protects human health and the environment. - 4. Registration and Reporting
Clevertronics UK International Ltd fulfil all legal requirements for registration and reporting by being members of the Lumicom Compliance scheme and reporting all EEE placed on market.
- 5. WEEE from users other than private households (B2B)
For Clevertronics UK International Ltd’s Products sold after 13th August 2005, Clevertronics UK International Ltd will ensure that the waste resulting from these products will be properly recycled. We do this by employing Lumicom to manage our WEEE obligations and carry out collection and recycling of our Products at the end of their Lives.

- 6. Historic WEEE
Historical WEEE is equipment, from any manufacturer, placed onto the market before 15 August 2005 and therefore does not display the wheelie bin symbol. Lumicom will take away historic WEEE when Clevertronics UK International Ltd’s product have been contracted to replace it on a like for like basis, providing the historic WEEE is of equivalent type and same function as the new equipment.
- 7. Treatment
In accordance with the requirements of the WEEE Directive, Lumicom confirms that treatment and recycling of WEEE done on behalf of Clevertronics UK International Ltd meets all Government targets for recycling and recovery of our products.

Battery Directive
Clevertronics has battery recycling registration meet the requirements of the Battery Directive (Battery Producer registration number BPRN08421).
